The D.I.Y.er Process
Thanks for contacting me about The DIYer Service.
The DIYer is for the Do-It-Yourself type which means we'll work together to create a design you love so you can simply purchase and install your project at your own pace. I save you time and headache planning, drafting, drawing, sourcing, and shopping, and you save money by doing all the measurements, photos, and execution of the concept yourself! And in the end you will have a personal, beautiful space that is put together with intention. Sources are retail only and you will need to be comfortable working via email and ordering online.

What I Need From You
STEP 1 - Determining the Scope
Pinterest Board - Create a Pinterest Board or two of inspirational images for how you want your space to feel, function, and look. This could also include any sketches you may have.
E-Design Form - Fill out this comprehensive E-Design Form where you will provide answers to all my burning questions and provide links to your Pinterest Boards and any other inspiration you have for your project. Have your Pinterest Board links ready to go before you fill out this form as you will not be able to save the form to finish later.
STEP 2 - Reviewing and Signing the Contract
Next you’ll receive a project quote and contract via email and have the opportunity to ask any questions or concerns you may have about the process.
FEE $125/hour
• Quote will depend on the scope of your project.
• Signing of contract and full Payment of Quote must be made in full before any work is done.
• The timeline for completion of the Final Concept is 4-6 weeks, depending on the scope, from the time you sign the contract and make full payment.
• You will have the responsibility to purchase and receive your items from the sources you use.
STEP 3 - Gathering the Details
Documenting and Measuring Your Space - Once the contract is signed by all parties and payment is received, you will be in charge of taking pictures and recording accurately all measurements for all walls and details. Follow the instructions in the link below and email me the final images.
Collaboration - You will provide me feedback on a Preliminary Concept and may be asked for feedback throughout the process via the Client Project Portal. Even though this is e-design, collaboration is still essential for a successful project. You will receive access to a secure Project Portal- a landing page where I will provide you with all the documents you will refer to throughout the process such as the signed contract, links to your Pinterest boards, preliminary concept, and final concept documents.
Now What?
When I've received all the information about your project listed above, I will begin the design process. You will receive multiple emails with updates about your project as the certain phases are completed and feedback from you is required. A quick and thorough response at these times will keep the project timeline shorter. If I receive no response from you to my emails after 30 days, I will close your project and you will have to pay a fee to reopen your project. Most projects can be completed in 4 weeks.
Final Concept
When the Final Concept is completed, all documents will be posted to your Project Portal for your access and ability to download to your device. I will notify you by email when this has occurred and set up a 30 minute phone call with you where I can verbally present your design to you as we both look at the design documents. This call will also allow you to ask any questions about the design. You will also receive a package in the mail with a tangible paper version of all documents and with any samples of fabrics and materials as are available included. Your Project Portal page will remain active for 6 months past the completion date of your project. You will also be asked to fill out a survey at the completion of your project so that I can improve my processes. I will allow 2 emails without a fee after the completion of the Final Concept and phone call for any questions or concerns about the concept. You are allowed 2 changes to the design where I will re-source an item within the 6 months following the completion of your design. I will also resource anything that may have been discontinued within the 6 months following the completion of your design.
Now it is up to you to execute your design! Good luck!
On Working Together
The opportunity to design and decorate our homes is truly a blessing and I look forward to helping you with your space. Our homes are deeply personal and should reflect who we are, where we’ve been, and where we want to go and be in life. Good design helps lift our spirits and minds to a higher level of function, peace, and tranquility. I’ve personally experienced this and have also witnessed it in my client’s lives. It can be life changing. Combine that with my love of helping others and you have exactly what drove me to open my business. So again, thank you for letting me into your life and story.
Warm Regards,
Amber Huntington
And in case you thought I was too serious or unflexible...
